Mahā-mṛtyuñjaya Mantra
This chant to Gaṇeśa is meant to be recited first, before any other mantras, since he is the remover of obstacles.
This is a chant from the Taittirīya Upaniṣad, invoking the spirit of togetherness. It is good to recite it before beginning any endeavor.
The opening mantra of Ashtanga yoga invokes and gives thanks to the lineage of teachers as well as Patañjali.
This is a well known-verse invoking a composite Patañjali as the author of texts on Yoga, Āyurveda and Grammar. It was first quoted in Śivarāma’s eighteenth century commentary on the Vāsavadattā of Subandhu.
This chant is recited at the end of Ashtanga yoga practice. It invokes peace and happiness for all beings. (with audio)
